Hard Work, Focus, Perseverance: Wise words from Guest Cecil Martin

thumbCecil visits senior players in the Fitness SuiteRBAI pupils were treated to a talk this morning from as very special guest; former NFL player and Sky Sports pundit Cecil Martin. Cecil is a former University of Wisconsin–Madison Football captain, and enjoyed a successful NFL career with Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cecil is also a former winner of the “Ed Block Courage Award”, and annual award presented to an NFL player who has exhibited high levels of inspiration, sportsmanship and courage.


Cricket: U12 XI Win the Centenary Cup

U12XI Win The Centenary Cup thumbIn cricket the U12 XI played Methody in the final of the Centenary Cup. Needing 96 win, the RBAI innings got off to the worst possible start with the 2 opening batsmen getting run-out. However excellent batting from Sam McLarnon and Cameron Johnston enabled the team to get close to the winning target. With 4 needed in the last over, after 2 dot balls, Ben Crothers hit the winning boundary for victory.

Cricket: Inst Win the Schools Cup!

A Happy teamthumbA blistering finish has given the 1st XI yet another Ulster Bank Ulster Schools Cup, a record ninth success in the 29 years of the competition. They triumphed comfortably in the end with four wickets and three overs to spare over Foyle College in a game that was nip and tuck until the school’s final flourish.
