Some lucky Year 8s and Year 9s had the opportunity to meet Jonathan Edwards on the front lawn of the school! Jonathan Edwards was in N Ireland to promote the Olympics 2012 and Inst was the only school he visited.
He had a busy day in the province, but he was more than happy to answer questions, sign Homework Diaries and pose for photographs.
The senior students of RBAI are eligible for travel scholarships – the Memorial prize fund and the Maurice Rankin Award.
Many congratulations to Head Boy Ben Wylie who has been selected for the 12 man Ireland ‘A’ squad to face MCC at Lord’s on Monday 23rd April. This is an outstanding achievement for a schoolboy to be selected for an Ireland Senior team and we wish him every success in his continued development at this elite level.
20 members of the INST choir joined with pupils from Assumption Grammar School, VCB and MCB to mark the precise hundredth anniversary of Titanic, the ‘Ship of Dreams,’ sailing to Southampton out of Belfast Lough, in the Banquet Hall of the Titanic centre.
