RBAI Football Champions

Football team Enniskillen 3thumbIt has taken many years of trying but finally RBAI 1st XI have won the prestigious Belfast U18 League title. Finishing off the season with a 2-2 draw against Boys Model and defeating Grosvenor Grammar 6-0, the Inst boys leapfrogged an excellent La Salle side to finish in first place.

More recognised for rugby, Inst footballers have been quietly improving over the last few seasons and this year there was a different mood in the squad. Not to be outdone by other sports in school, this special group of players became the first ever Inst football team to win a trophy.

University and Schools Boat Races

Rowing ThumbLast Saturday saw the annual University and Schools Boat Races take place over a 2,000 metre course on the River Lagan. The conditions were difficult for all crews with strong cross-head winds gusting and blowing all day, with intermittent showers to add another challenge for athletes and spectators.

RBAI Receives UK recognition during National Epilepsy Week

Group Epil ThumbOn Monday 18th May the boys of the Junior school were pleased to welcome some very special visitors to present Inst with an award. Mr Derick Woods, former Principal of Wellington College, addressed assembly at the beginning of National Epilepsy Week, a very fitting time for the school to be presented with an Epilepsy Action ‘Edward’.
