A Level Examination Results 2015

ALevel ThumbAt the end of an outstanding year for RBAI, the Upper Sixth have achieved excellent A Level results. Their year can justifiably claim to excel in and out of the classroom. I congratulate the boys and their teachers on the increased achievements at A*, A, B and C grades, with the percentage of  3 A*-C grades significantly up on previous years. Well done to all the boys, particularly those who have achieved their target grades and who worked so hard to realise their potential.

GCSE Examination Results 2015

GCSE ThumbCongratulations to the year 12 on their excellent examination results, raising standards even further at RBAI. With over 75% of all grades A*-B, and 21 departments over 90% A*-C, we have a lot to celebrate.  I stand by our commitment to enable each boy to reach his full potential.   In some cases we have exceptionally gifted students for whom success is 10+ A*/A. In other instances we are equally proud of the student for whom, having worked hard, a C or B grade is a real achievement.

Farewell to RBAI and the Instonian Nation

1st XI football trophy AMcK thumbFrom my early days as a pupil at Ballyclare HS it was my ambition to become a teacher. To have been able to teach in this historic Institution over parts of 5 different decades has been an amazing experience, and has provided me with incredible memories. As well as teaching Geography, I have been fortunate to hold a variety of different positions in Inst and for the last 21 years to have been part of the Senior Leadership Team. There is saying that goes – when it comes to work, ‘Do what you love and love what you do!’ I can honestly say that every day for the last 37 years that is what I have been able to do.

RBAI Football Champions

Football team Enniskillen 3thumbIt has taken many years of trying but finally RBAI 1st XI have won the prestigious Belfast U18 League title. Finishing off the season with a 2-2 draw against Boys Model and defeating Grosvenor Grammar 6-0, the Inst boys leapfrogged an excellent La Salle side to finish in first place.

More recognised for rugby, Inst footballers have been quietly improving over the last few seasons and this year there was a different mood in the squad. Not to be outdone by other sports in school, this special group of players became the first ever Inst football team to win a trophy.
