RBAI Receives UK recognition during National Epilepsy Week

Group Epil ThumbOn Monday 18th May the boys of the Junior school were pleased to welcome some very special visitors to present Inst with an award. Mr Derick Woods, former Principal of Wellington College, addressed assembly at the beginning of National Epilepsy Week, a very fitting time for the school to be presented with an Epilepsy Action ‘Edward’.

RBAI Googles The Future

Google Group ThumbnailHe may have been visiting his Alma Mater but there is nothing ‘old school’ about Peter Barron! The Vice President of Communications for Google in Europe, Middle East and Africa, and former editor of BBC Newsnight, returned to RBAI on Thursday to address a group of 100 local business leaders and pupils on the Changing World of Media and Technology.


RBAI: Excellence and Participation

RBAI 5thumbRBAI’s various sports teams have been enjoying unprecedented success. The Rugby Club has had a stellar year with the top teams, the 1st and Medallion XV, completing the double and winning their respective titles in hugely competitive circumstances, this is only the third time such a feat has been achieved in the long history of the competitions.

The RBAI swimmers also clocked an impressive win in the Bath Cup, a prestigious event inaugurated in 1910 in which seventy schools from across the UK compete. The boys came within one hundredth of a second of breaking the record for the competition winning the title, and one hour later the Otter Cup, in style.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 1st XV - Schools Cup Winners 2015

RBAI Winners 01thumbLed by captain Lewis McNamara, the 1st XV won the Schools' Cup in the 2015 final against Wallace High School 14-10. This is the 30th win for RBAI, in the most prestigious of the school rugby competitions in Northern Ireland. The success of the team is complemented with the Medallion squad recently winning the Medallion Shield, and securing The Double. Added to the first and medallion victories, the 4th XV face the 3rd XV in the thirds final. This is a terrific season for the rugby club.
