News The Bicentenary Concert at the Waterfront Hall on April 29th is sold out. Car parking is available in the school on the night of the concert on a first come first served basis. Ticket returns may be available from the Waterfront booking office. Click here for more details on how to contact the waterfront. Before the concert a celebratory quarter peal of church bells will be rung on the Thursday evening between 6:30 and 7:30 pm at St Thomas church on the Lisburn Road. The Gala Dinner at the City Hall on Friday April 30th has a waiting list of approximately forty. Car parking is available in the school on the night of the dinner on a first come first served basis. A list of attendees in both alphabetical and year of leaving order is available at List of Gala Dinner attendees. The Lecture Series is proving to be a huge success. The most recent featured Tim Knox, Director of the Sir John Soane's museum, and Hugh Dixon, National Trust Curator, who spoke on the evolution of John Soane's design for 'Inst'. The lecture was well attended, with the Christ Church library full, and well received by all. The refreshments served by the pupils were much appreciated. The first , An Evening of Poetry with Frank Ormsby and Michael Longley, was a great success and enjoyed by all the over one hundred who attended. The next lecture in our bicentenary series is once again in Christ Church on Wednesday May 19th, 7:00 for 7:30pm, when Sir Peter Froggatt will give a talk entitled ‘Medicine in Inst and Instonians in Medicine’. Approximately 500 have registered on the RBAI website and information will also go out via Seahorse and the School News. The 2010 web pages will be updated periodically and this News page will give notice of new information as it arises. New information will also be emailed to all who register on the RBAI site. Add the RBAI website to your bookmarks or favourites and visit frequently.
All 420 spaces for the gala dinner were allocated on Monday 5th January and tickets are in the process of being sent out. We are operating a waiting list in case some people are unable to make it. This is currently standing at about 50. For more details Click here.
