RBAI Receives UK recognition during National Epilepsy Week

On Monday 18th May the boys of the Junior school were pleased to welcome some very special visitors to present Inst with an award. Mr Derick Woods, former Principal of Wellington College, addressed assembly at the beginning of National Epilepsy Week, a very fitting time for the school to be presented with an Epilepsy Action ‘Edward’. Mr Woods was joined in assembly by the parents of Luke Macauley, 8J, who was diagnosed with epilepsy in his P7 year.

Mrs Macauley nominated the school for the ‘Edward’ because of the school’s support of Luke; it was an amazing feat for Inst to be the only school in Northern Ireland receiving an award this year. While the national recognition has been wonderful, it is particularly special to have been nominated by Luke and his parents who appreciate what the school has done for him;  everyone is thrilled to have been able to support Luke and hope to be able to do so throughout his time at Inst.
