On Thursday 1st September the company “Amazing Brains” came to school to deliver a half-day work shop to our L6 pupils. The course was engaging and thought-provoking for the pupils yet at times also light-hearted and fun. The aim of the event was to educate the boys about the transition from GCSE study to AS level and the importance of key skills such as organisation, prioritising tasks, time management, working collaboratively with teachers and other L6 pupils, as well as the need at post-GCSE level to regularly review notes during Private Study and Home Study. The boys also had the opportunity to openly and honestly express their own concerns ahead of embarking upon AS study and life in the Sixth Form.
It is to be hoped that the boys will remember and implement some of the very useful advice and strategies in the weeks and months ahead in order to complement their excellent GCSE results from last year.
L6 induction continues with the popular activity day in Crawfordsburn on Friday 16th September and the L6 Parents Information Evening in the Dining Hall on Wednesday 21st September from 7.00-8.00pm.
