Following the success of the new Scholarship and Exhibition Programme last year, the Principal was delighted to formally announce a new Australia Travel Scholarship which will give the opportunity for a Year 13 pupil to travel to Australia for 6-7 weeks in the summer of 2017.
Alongside a 3 week placement in an Australian School, the recipient will gain work experience in one of the world’s leading economies, facilitated by an RBAI alumnus.
The idea for new Scholarship came out of the Australia & New Zealand Alumni Reunion in March, which brought together 30 alumni in Sydney during the Principal’s Churchill Fellowship visit.
Sydney based alumnus Chris Wilson (RBAI 1973-80) explained the thinking behind the new Scholarship:
‘During the reunion we recognised how much we have all benefited from traveling overseas and experiencing different cultures. This is an opportunity to experience a different style of learning in an Australian school, and gain international work experience in one of the world’s leading economies.

The Principal expressed her gratitude to all those who have shaped and supported the Scholarship:
‘This is a wonderful opportunity for a pupil to demonstrate their ambition and development to potential universities and future employers. We are extremely grateful to the Instonian community in Australia & New Zealand, and look forward to strengthening links between them and the School.’
