The RBAI 1st XI hockey team travelled to Cookstown H.S. on Wednesday 27th September to play their final fixture in the qualification process for the Irish Schools Tournament. Having already recorded a 1-0 win over MCB, and a 1-1 draw with Friends’ School, earlier in the competition, the RBAI team knew that a positive result in Cookstown would secure qualification.
Following a very close match, played in the midst of poor weather conditions, the RBAI team secured a 1-0 victory over Cookstown H.S. The RBAI goal came from Josh Kidd (Upper Sixth), mid-way through the first-half of the match.
The 1st XI now progresses to take part in the Irish Schools Tournament in Cork. The top sixteen schools from across the island of Ireland will compete between Wednesday 25th and Friday 27th October, 2017.
Congratulations to the pupils and coaches involved.
