RBAI is delighted to be awarded a grant of £50,000 from the Wolfson Foundation towards Phase II of the Science Department refurbishment.
The Wolfson Foundation (www.wolfson.org.uk) is an independent charity that supports and promotes excellence in the fields of science, health, education and the arts and humanities.
Principal Janet Williamson believes this award will have long-term benefits;
“We are extremely grateful to the Wolfson Foundation for this award. The refurbishment programme is rooted in our educational development plan to maintain and develop our resources. The additional multi-purpose science suite and refurbished laboratories will
provide brighter, spacious and a more stimulating learning environment for our pupils. I anticipate the benefits will be reflected in improving academic attainment and achievements.”
Phase I of the refurbishment took place last summer, resulting in four full refurbished Chemistry laboratories. Phase II of the renovations will commence at the end of June 2019, with Phase III scheduled for 2020.
Support from the Wolfson Foundation forms part of the £2.5 million Excellence For All fundraising campaign. To date £1.9 million has been pledged in support of Science, Technology, Swimming and Social Mobility. Click here to learn more about the campaign and pledge your support.
