Spring Concert

The Spring Concert opened with an outstanding performance by the Choir of Vivaldi’s famous setting of the Gloria. It was described by one guest as “simply superb”.

This was followed by three impressive numbers from the Jazz Band, and a group of items for small ensembles and soloists, ranging from a Handel Recorder Sonata (played by Jonathan Stewart) to a Scriabin Etude (played by Cory Shen). The concert concluded with a series of large-scale pieces for combined Choir and Orchestra, including “The Ward of the Worlds”, “How can I keep from singing?” and “I wanna be like you”.

There was a standing ovation from the audience on both evenings. “Congratulations on a splendid performance” – member of the audience.
