Africa Day at RBAI

Year 9 at RBAI enjoyed discovering more about Africa in a series of presentations on the theme of Africa. These included a keynote assembly by Alfred Abolarin from the African and Caribbean Support Organisation of Northern Ireland. This was followed by personal insights into life in his country by South African, Eugene, of the school cricket coaching staff. Mr Andrew Hamilton who had led a RBAI Habitat for Humanity group to Zambia in 2011 then shared his experiences. Some Year 9 boys delivered PowerPoint presentations on Kenya, part of their curricular work in Geography. The morning was rounded by an enjoyable, interactive session on a range of African instruments led by the Zimbabwean musician, Gabriel Makamanzi and his colleague Agrippa. The boys really entered into the spirit of the music!
