Mr Haslett, previous Master in Charge of Rugby and Head of Geography, last night took centre stage as his book on the history of rugby within the school was launched. Many famous alumni, friends of the school and current pupils were present to see Mr Haslett interviewed by old boy and BBC presenter, Jim Neilly. Also in attendance were former British and Irish Lions David Irwin, Ronnie Lamont, Colin Patterson and David Hewitt, BBC Presenter Jim Stokes and former Principal of Inst, Mr Ridley.
Miss Williamson comments in the foreward of the book, ‘David Haslett presents a timely book, which demonstrates the significant contribution of the rugby club to the ethos of the school and development of the pupils. Rugby has been played in the School since 1872. This historical record explains the considerable contribution and achievements of the players and coaches.’
The book may be purchased in the school office or ordered online through the school website.
