The 3 XV played in the final of the Cup against Campbell College at Pirrie Park. The team worked incredibly hard all season to get to this position. The standard of rugby was incredible from both sides on the day, but RBAI had the edge. During the very tense game, the team showed real guts and determination in both defence and attack. They were rewarded in the first half with a 9 point lead, converted by Cameron Black. Throughout the game, players made heroic tackles to deny Campbell a try. The winning score came late in the second half from Callum Blundell, after an excellent clearing kick from Ally Hill put Scott Coates into space. Nicholas Mitchell, who was a fantastic captain, lifted the trophy to the applauding crowd. This is the third time in a row that Inst has won the trophy – what an outstanding achievement. The players and Dr Mort would like to thank the amazing crowd who came and supported the team on the day – see you again next year.
