Third XV Cup Final

The match started with Inst dominating position and possession but were unable to finish many surges into the Methody 22. Unfortunately some shots at goal were also missed and the nerves of the crowd at half time were building as the score remained 0-0.

The second half continued with Inst being the better team but it took 15 minutes for the Methody defence to be broken for James Magee to finish off an excellent wide play by the backs. Tom Luke was on target with the conversion 7-0.

For the remainder of the match it was outhalf Paddy Dolaghan who dominated with some excellent tactical kicking pinning Methody in their own half. The continued pressure led to another penalty which Tom Luke kicked to make the result safe.

There were many stand out performers yesterday, particularly in the forwards, but none more so than Ayman Omar who consistently carried the ball over the gainline throughout the match.

Congratulations to coach Mr Lyttle, Captain Kenton Bell and the entire squad.
