Gleghorne wins bronze at the Commonwealth Games

Many congratulations to Mark Gleghorne (RBAI 1996-2003) who, as a member of the English hockey squad, won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow (July/August 2014.) In the group stages of the competition Mark scored two goals : one against Trinidad and Tobago and the second against Malaysia. In the semi-final of the competition England lost out to world champions Australia. In the bronze medal match, England managed to defeat New Zealand : the match ended 3-3 at the end of normal time with England emerging victorious following a nail-biting penalty shoot-out. Mark was also a member of the English squad that finished fourth at the recent Hockey World Cup in the Netherlands in June 2014.

Everybody connected to RBAI is delighted to see Mark achieve such success. We wish him well as he continues to strive for selection to the Great Britain squad for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
